Appointments - What to expect

Chest cast appointments require 2 hours.

I apply body-safe silicone in 3 layers to the skin. This captures the texture and shape of the skin.
I then apply a few layers of plaster bandage. This is wet when applied, then it sets hard. It supports and retains the shape of the silicone.

Nothing in this process is uncomfortable. In fact, some people say the feeling of the silicone and the plaster is like a “hug”.

It is advised not to wear a bra for a few hours before the appointment, as bra strap indentations will show in the final cast.
